Nutcracker Ballet Table Runner

I will be the first to admit that I miss watching my son and daughter perform in The Nutcracker. They danced for years with a youth ballet from elementary school through high school. The performances were very professionally run. All the dancers from the oldest pre-professional dancers on down to the littlest 5-year-old mice knew their cues and every step of their dances.

Over the years, JMoney and GKatt danced everything from an Angel, the Soldier Doll, Chinese, Russian, Mirlitons, Arabian, and Flowers, to Clara, the Snow Queen and King, the Sugar Plum Fairy, the Nutcracker Prince and the Sugar Plum Fairy’s Cavalier. I remember the first year JMoney danced the Sugar Plum Fairy and GKatt danced the Nutcracker Prince. I just sat in my seat after the show crying I was so overwhelmed and grateful. I still cry every time I hear “their music” play.

So this table runner is for JMoney and GKatt, for their dance instructors at Littleton Ballet Academy who worked tirelessly to present beautiful productions, and for every little girl who every dreamed of donning Clara’s flowy white nightgown and adventuring with a handsome prince into the magical Land of the Sweets.

You too can relive the iconic battle between the Nutcracker Prince and the Mouse King.  I designed this with the image of blue and red Delftware in my head. Red won out for Christmas.

This festive table runner stitches up in just a few hours. It would make a great last-minute gift or decoration. I love pairing it with other nutcracker decorations and with pepperminty red and white ornaments and garlands for a cheerful holiday tablescape.

I’ve partnered once again with Lion Brand to bring you this Christmas table runner pattern. You can purchase the pattern alone in my Etsy shop or you can purchase a kit through lionbrand.com. I love that you can frequently get the kit 30% off and the pattern is included at no extra charge. It’s a great deal!

I’d love to see your finished Nutcracker Silhouette Table Runner, especially if you choose to stitch it in different colors. I’d love to see it in blue or green or whatever matches you Christmas décor.

And cheers to all the dancers who will once again take the stage this Christmas to preserve the story of Clara and Fritz, Uncle Drosselmeyer, and the enchanted Nutcracker Prince!
