Graceful Swans Reflection Throw
Swans are such beautiful, graceful creatures. When I saw that swans are trending again, I knew that I needed to create a swan blanket.
I tried about three times to get the perfect design. I tried using just one swan and the blanket was a little too plain. I tried to swans looking toward each other and the blanket was a little too wide. Finally, I settled on the idea of using a swan mirrored in a still pond and I knew that I had struck gold. This afghan captures the tranquility of nature in a breathtakingly unpretentious fashion.
With the new year and the theme of the blanket, I decided to call it Reflection. I love the idea of looking at ourselves and seeing who we truly are. It’s always good each year to pause and see just how far we’ve come and reflect on what is ahead for us.

The Reflection Afghan measures 47.5 inches X 56.5 inches when crocheted at the gauge suggested in the pattern.

A closeup of the border. The border finishes off the blanket with a simple half double crochet row and reverse single crochet row. I love the beautiful corded look of reverse single crochet to finish off an afghan.

I am in love with this new design! It is so peaceful and refined. It’s a relatively simple pattern that even those new to C2C crochet could tackle with a little patience.
And while I love the white swan on the navy blue background, I could also see this as a black swan on a baby blue background. Wouldn’t that be striking!
