The Fellowship of the Ring Afghan — Aragorn

Ah Aragorn! Who could not love Aragorn? He’s another of those good, wise, and noble characters in The Lord of the Rings that I mentioned in the Samwise Gamgee post. He is also with the Hobbits almost from the beginning of the story. He joins them and leads them into the wilds and protects them from the Nazgul, the Ringwraiths.

The powers in the One Ring try to infect Aragorn, but he remains untarnished. He lets Frodo go on toward Mordor while he stays behind to fight the Uruk-hai and he leads the combined forces against the Black Gate. Yes, this is all from the movie version of The Lord of the Rings trilogy. It’s been a really long time since I read the books by J.R.R. Tolkien. Personally, I found the movies more engaging.

Aragorn is the fourth block in The Fellowship of the Ring C2C Crochet Afghan.

After you finish crocheting the block, crochet one row of single crochet in DUSTY GREEN around the entire block.  See Adding a Single Crochet Edge around a Finished C2C Block for how I crochet around the edge.

I love the way this Aragorn block turned out! He looks just as Strider ought. Of course, Aragorn is one of my favorite characters so perhaps I’m a little prejudiced. Be sure to visit the beginning of May for the 5th block in The Fellowship of the Ring AfghanGimli!

Stitch happy!
