The Fellowship of the Ring Afghan — Legolas

Legolas “Greenleaf” is the son of the elven king Thranduil of the Woodland Realm. He attends the Council of Elrond in Rivendell where he reveals to Boromir that Aragorn is the heir of Isildur.

Because of his super-human abilities, Legolas is invaluable to the Fellowship charged with the destruction of the One Ring. Legolas has sharp eyesight and sensitive hearing. He is a master bowman and has great physical stamina.

In the movie, The Fellowship of the Ring, it is implied that friendship already exists between Aragorn and Legolas. The same is not true with the dwarf Gimli. At first Legolas and Gimli distrust each other because of an ancient quarrel between their two races. They later learn to respect each other and become friends and the constant companions of Aragorn.

Legolas is fearless and stoic. He is the sixth block in The Fellowship of the Ring C2C Crochet Afghan.
