Nostalgic Child-Size Strawberry-Themed Afghan
I admit it. I played with Strawberry Stortcake dolls as a child. I loved the bright colors, the sweet scents, their little animal friends, and their cute expressions and accessories. Everything about them appealed to me as a little girl. I even wrote a story about Strawberry Shortcake and her friends which I then bound into a book using cardboard and a wallpaper scrap for the cover.
The Strawberry Fields C2C Crochet Afghan harks back to those simpler times and is just in time for a new release of dolls and accessories. I designed this berry sweet blanket after seeing a resurgence of strawberry-themed clothes, crafts, and yes, the new dolls. This blanket has become a favorite of mine. Lion Brand has sponsored me again and the Pink, Mustard, Scarlet, and Kelly Green in their Vanna’s Choice yarn are perfection.
This blanket is a happy blanket. It makes me smile every time I see it. I think any little girl or strawberry lover would be thrilled to have it. I might even add a few blocks and make one for myself!

Gah! I love this blanket! Frequently I give away my blankets or put them away on a shelf until needed, but I just can’t with this one yet. It is just so fun to look at. Who is the strawberry lover in your life?
