When I first decided that I wanted to do a Fiesta! C2C Crochet Afghan pattern, this Chile Peppers Panel is where I started. The inspiration for it came from visiting my in-laws at Christmastime. They live in Tucson and it is very common in the Southwest to decorate with bunches of dried chile peppers. Many even have chile pepper Christmas lights! In fact, that’s the next Christmas blanket I’m going to make. Can you imagine it? I love different and unexpected patterns and I think chile pepper lights accomplishes both of those. Look for it coming this summer!

Chile peppers are, of course, known for their heat and pungency. They add spice to many common Mexican and Southwestern dishes. The peppers come in many colors including green, red, yellow, white, and even purple.

This Chile Peppers C2C Crochet Panel is relaxing to stitch. It is a nice respite from the Papel Picado Row before diving into the more complicated Tacos and Barrel Cacti rows.
