Who doesn’t love tacos? When I was a kid we had tacos almost every week. Maybe I’m not the only one. Maybe that’s why so many people have “Taco Tuesday.” We hardly ever ate them in the shell once my parents discovered “spoon tacos.” Even now, I prefer to spread a layer of chips out on my plate and build a taco salad on top of it rather than eat crunchy corn shells. I guess I just like to eat my food with a fork. 🙂 To each her own!

The origin of the taco is unknown. Some attribute it to Mexican silver miners in the 18th century. Whether or not the miners invented the taco, it has now been around hundreds of years and comes in many traditional varieties. Some of these include:

• Tacos de minera (miner’s taco)
• Tacos al pastor (shepherd style)
• Tacos de asador ( grilled or roasted)
• Tacos de pescado (fish tacos)
• and many more!

So many varieties to choose from!

~ Tacos 75×15 Pixel Graph

~ Loops and Threads Impeccable Yarn 4.5 oz skeins in the following colors (weight is approximate):

• White — 4.8 ounces
• Sunny Day — 3.5 ounces
• Kelly Green — 1.2 ounces
• Red Hot — .5 ounce
• Orange Crush — .5 ounce

~ Size H Crochet Hook or hook needed to achieve gauge (see Gauge for C2C Afghans)

~ Yarn Needle

~ Scissors

Crochet the panel starting from the bottom right corner of the chart.  Row-by-row written instructions are below.

After you finish crocheting the panel, crochet one row of single crochet in WHITE around the entire panel.  See Adding a Single Crochet Edge around a Finished C2C Block for how I crochet around the edge.
