Harry Potter Gryffindors Afghan—Parvati Patil Block

She looked very pretty indeed, in robes of shocking pink, with her long dark plait braided with gold, and gold bracelets glimmering at her wrists.”

As a minor character in the Harry Potter franchise, little is really known about Parvati Patil. We know that she and her twin sister Padma are of Indian descent and are exceptionally pretty. Parvati develops a love of Divination along with her best friend Lavender Brown. Harry asks Parvati to be his date to the Yule Ball and Parvati seems to enjoy the attention of attending with a Hogwarts champion, but gets annoyed quickly at Harry’s inattention. I mean, who wouldn’t?

We don’t see a lot of the Gryffindor daring, nerve, and chivalry in Parvati except for a couple of one-liners. In Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone, Parvati sticks up for Neville Longbottom when Draco Malfoy is mocking him after Neville’s first disastrous flight on a broomstick. Parvati also joins the semi-rebellious group Dumbledore’s Army and fights in the Battle of Hogwarts during her seventh year.

Parvati Patil is the sixth block in the Harry Potter Gryffindors C2C Crochet Afghan.

~ Lion Brand Vanna’s Choice Yarn 3.5 oz skeins in the following colors (amounts are approximations):

• Black — 2.2 ounces
• Mustard (yellow) — 2.5 ounces
• Honey (tan) — 1.6 ounces
• Charcoal Grey — .6 ounce
• White — .3 ounce
• Scarlet (red)— .2 ounce
• Chocolate (brown) — .1 ounces

~ Size H/5.0 mm Crochet Hook or hook needed to achieve gauge (see Gauge for C2C Afghans)

~ Yarn Needle

Crochet the square starting from the bottom right corner of the chart.  Row-by-row written instructions are below.
