“The hall looked spectacular. Festoons of holly and mistletoe hung all around the walls, and no less than twelve towering Christmas trees stood around the room, some sparkling with tiny icicles, some glittering with hundreds of candles.”

DIY Harry Potter Christmas Ornaments
Welcome Witches, Wizards, Muggles, and all Harry Potter Fans! I have long wanted to create a Harry Potter Christmas tree and this year I am doing it! I decided to use a 3-foot Christmas tree and make all the ornaments to fit. I’ll have everything from Chocolate Frogs to Chess Pieces to Winged Keys to Crocheted Owls. I hope you’ll follow along and make these ornaments for your own Harry Potter themed Christmas tree!
There will be seven ornaments.
“Isn’t seven the most powerfully magical number?”

The Ornaments
- Chocolate Frogs
- Bubbling Christmas Potion Cauldrons
- Gilded Wizard Chess Pieces
- Perler Bead Characters and House Crests
- Winged Keys
- Crocheted Snowy Owls
- Potion Bottles
The ornaments will be released one per week, starting next Thursday. This is going to be so fun!
Supplies
There are a few basic supplies that will be used for many of the ornaments and I suggest purchasing them up front. These include:
These will be used for hanging the ornaments. All other supplies will be listed with each ornament.
And I found these perfect additions to the tree at Hobby Lobby. Red and gold balls . . .
Snowy owls (though I maybe should have shot these on black) . . . I bought mine as picks at Hobby Lobby, but these owls on Amazon are similar and already strung as ornaments.
Hogwarts school trunks . . .
and a shimmery Prongs patronus Christmas tree topper!
Isn’t he perfect?!
We’ll kick things off with DIY Harry Potter Chocolate Frog Ornaments. These pair particularly well with the DIY Harry Potter Inspired Chocolate Frog Boxes. They would look great on your tree together!
See you next Thursday!
